Some Viking appliance faults cannot wait for a standard appointment. A gas range that smells of gas after a burner is turned off, a refrigerator compressor that has failed with $500 of food at risk, or a range hood sparking during operation are situations where you need a qualified technician today — not in three days.
Our emergency repair service provides priority scheduling for urgent faults, with same-day or next-day availability in most major metropolitan areas.
When to Book a Viking Emergency Repair
Book an emergency callout immediately if any of the following apply:
- You smell gas near your Viking range, cooktop, or outdoor grill — even after all burners are off
- Your Viking refrigerator has stopped cooling and food is at risk (a full refrigerator stays safe for approximately 4 hours)
- Your Viking freezer temperature has risen and frozen goods are beginning to thaw
- Any Viking appliance has tripped your circuit breaker, is sparking, or shows signs of burning
- Your Viking range hood has stopped functioning and there is a fire or smoke risk in the kitchen
- Your Viking dishwasher is leaking water actively onto the floor
Gas Range and Cooktop Emergency Protocol
If you smell gas near your Viking range or cooktop: do not operate any electrical switches, do not use your phone inside the property, do not attempt to locate the leak yourself. Open windows and doors, leave the property, and call your gas utility's emergency line from outside. Once the gas utility has attended and confirmed safety, contact us to diagnose and repair the source of the leak — which may be a faulty gas valve, a loose connection, or a damaged burner assembly.
Refrigerator and Freezer Compressor Failure
A Viking refrigerator or freezer that has stopped cooling entirely usually indicates compressor failure, a refrigerant leak, or a catastrophic electrical fault in the sealed system. These are not user-serviceable faults. Do not unplug and replug the unit repeatedly — compressor start attempts on a failed unit can cause additional damage. Move perishables to alternative cold storage and book emergency service immediately.
Emergency Callout Fees
Emergency appointments are prioritised ahead of the standard booking queue, which means a callout fee may apply. This is communicated clearly at the time of booking. In most cases, the emergency callout fee is absorbed into the total repair cost when work is carried out on the same visit.
Transparent Pricing
The final cost of your repair will be confirmed after our technician completes a thorough on-site diagnosis. We provide a clear, written estimate before any work begins — no hidden fees, no surprises. You only pay if you approve the repair.
Is Your Appliance Under Recall?
Before scheduling an emergency repair, check whether your Viking appliance model is covered by an active recall. Recall-related repairs are handled at no cost through Viking authorized service. View all active Viking recalls.
