Viking Range, LLC has identified a potential overheating condition in the power cord assembly on select Viking dishwasher models. Under specific high-frequency usage conditions, the power cord insulation may degrade prematurely, presenting a risk of overheating and, in rare cases, a fire hazard.

Affected Viking Dishwasher Models

This notice applies to Viking Professional 5 Series and Viking 3 Series built-in dishwashers with the following model prefixes manufactured between January 2019 and June 2023:

• VDWU524 series (all suffix variants)
• VDWU324 series (all suffix variants)
• DFUD042 series (all suffix variants)
• DFUD141 series (all suffix variants)

Check the model and serial number label located on the inner door frame to confirm whether your unit falls within the affected production window.

Urgency: HIGH. Overheating power cords can ignite adjacent cabinetry or flooring. Do not ignore physical signs of heat damage.

Symptoms to Watch For

• Discoloration, melting, or a burning smell near the power cord or wall outlet
• Tripped circuit breaker associated with the dishwasher circuit
• Unusual warmth at the power cord connection point under the sink cabinet
• Visible cracking or brittleness in the cord insulation jacket
